This statement piece was built to last.
It was an exciting project: Our homeowner was having their wedding in their backyard, and they wanted the space to comfortably host their guests but also be suitable as a retreat for private use in the long term.
The solution included a bluestone flagstone patio and a bocce ball court — a bold and beneficial feature! To divide the space up further, native little bluestem was planted to serve as a flexible barrier between the two areas. Underneath the bocce ball court, we installed a massive infiltration trench to help deal with the ever-constant threat of stormwater management.
All that was left was to install lighting — a must for any wedding, and a delightful feature in most yards.
